Teresa Blanch

Barcelona, 1952. Art historian and curator of contemporary art. PhD in Art History and Professor of the Faculty of Fine Arts at UB since 1981. She has been Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts from 2004 to 2008.

She writes in magazines and catalogs essays for museums since the late seventies. She makes lectures, seminars and participates as a member of Jury Calls for Awards, Scholarships and Art projects statewide. Expert Advisory Committees of contemporary art.

She has been responsible for programming “Sala Montcada” Fundació “la Caixa” (Barcelona), experimental art projects from 1989 to 1991. Since 1986 performs an intense activity as curator for Museums: FRAC-Champagne Ardenne, EXPO-ARTE Bari, MNCARS R.Sofía-Madrid, IVAM-Valencia, KUNSTHALLE-Mälmo, MACBA-Barcelona, Fd.SERRALVES-Porto, WHITECHAPEL Art Gallery-Londres, MAGASIN-Grenoble, REKALDE-Bilbao, CAJAMADRID – Salas Alcalà Madrid, Fd.GULBENKIAN-Lisboa, TECLA SALA-l’Hospitalet de Ll., CIUDADELA-Ayunt. Pamplona, CAAC-Sevilla, ARTIUM-Vitoria, Fd. JOAN MIRÓ-Barcelona.

Since 1987 she has organized workshops with international artists, she has collaborated on Art Biennial and has coordinated the production of Intervention “Public Art” in different cities in Spain, Italy, Portugal and USA. In 1999, she organized the international event “DOUBLE LIVES. interventions in 14 Historical Museums”(with 23 artists from different countries), ICUB, City of Barcelona.
