<\/p>\r\n

ART Situacions, an art patronage project which, for more than a decade now, has been promoting the production of young artists working today, is opening the tour of its third exhibition, ART Situacions III<\/em>, in Barcelona, more specifically at La Capella, on view from 3 October through 5 November 2023.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

The exhibition pairs the work of five Spanish and five French artists: Elena Aitzkoa, Nora Aurrekoetxea, Luc\u00eda Bay\u00f3n, Aleix Plademunt <\/strong>and Pablo Capit\u00e1n del R\u00edo;<\/strong> and Salom\u00e9<\/strong> Chatriot, Marie-Luce Nadal, Beno\u00eet Pi\u00e9ron, Elsa Br\u00e8s <\/strong>and Yoan Sorin<\/strong>, from Spain and France respectively. All the artists were selected by a committee made up of Mar\u00eda de Corral, Lorena Mart\u00ednez de Corral, Chus Mart\u00ednez <\/strong>and Vicent Todol\u00ed<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

The ART Situacions project funded the production of a total of 10 new works created specifically for the occasion, which are exhibited together with a selection of other representative pieces from the artists.<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n

The stage design of the exhibition space is by Olga Subir\u00f3s, an architect who has previously worked on setting up exhibitions in museums such as MACBA or Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. In addition, ART Situacions III<\/em> is coupled with a book published by Turner whose common thread is a text by Chus Mart\u00ednez. “The artists under focus make up an eclectic group, both formally and materially speaking, which seeks to address the need for tenderness and care, as well as a new love for life,” says Mart\u00ednez.<\/p>\r\n

After closing in Barcelona on 5 November, the exhibition, which opened for the first time at IFEMA Madrid during ARCOmadrid earlier this year, will tour to various venues in France with the purpose of supporting culture and the participating artists.<\/p>\r\n

A project of patronage and passion for art<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Keenly aware of the lack of opportunities for young artists working today, ART Situacions, a project driven by the personal desire of the husband-and-wife team of Catalan collectors Pilar Forcada and Marcel Pascual to inject new energy into the art scene, was created in 2011 to promote emerging art through funding for new production. As a result, two editions have already been held. The first in 2012 with Portugal as the invited guest country, featuring the participation of Spanish artists Patricia Dauder, Pepe Cifuentes, Francesc Ruiz, Juan L\u00f3pez D\u00edez, Miki Leal, Jaime de la Jara, Santiago Giralda and Nuria Fuster alongside the Portuguese artists Mauro Cerqueira and Carla Filipe. The second was held in 2016 with the Italian artists Ludovica Carbotta, Gabriele de Santis, Anna Franceschini, Diego Marcon and Alek O. and the Spaniards Miren Doiz, Jos\u00e9 Guerrero, Rub\u00e9n Guerrero, Teresa Solar Abboud and Anna Talens.<\/p>\r\n

After the passing of Pilar Forcada in 2021, her husband Marcel Pascual, collector and general director of Honda-Greens, took over at the helm of ART Situacions with the desire to continue the project in memory of his wife and their shared passion for art. \u201cFor almost half a century together we built an eclectic and diverse collection that combined the work of recognized artists and emerging new talents,\u201d says Marcel Pascual. “It has given us great joy to have contributed with our support so that a good handful of artists have been able to dedicate themselves exclusively to their work.”<\/p>\r\n

In addition, between 2017 and 2022 ART Situacions organized the annual ART Situacions ARCOmadrid award for the best emerging work of art at the fair. Its winners have been: Antonio Ballester Moreno (2017), Carlos Irijalba (2018), Patricia G\u00f3mez and Mar\u00eda Jes\u00fas Gonz\u00e1lez (2019), Asunci\u00f3n Molinos Gordo (2020) and Irma \u00c1lvarez-Laviada (2022).<\/p>\r\n
