ART Situacions is a private non-profit organization that seeks to promote the diffusion of the younger sector of current art and bring it closer to a wider audience, with a prospective perspective.<\/p>\n

In 2011, the first edition of ART Situacions was launched with a selection of Spanish and Portuguese artists, chosen by a committee of experts made up of Teresa Blanch, Mar\u00eda de Corral, Yolanda Romero and Vicent Todol\u00ed, specialists of recognized national and international prestige. The selected works were exhibited in Barcelona (Arts Santa M\u00f2nica), Valladolid (Museo Patio Herreriano), Salamanca (Domus Artium 2002) and Badajoz (Extremadura Ibero-American Museum of Contemporary Art).<\/p>\n

The second edition of ART Situacions had a committee of experts made up of Mar\u00eda de Corral, Ilaria Gianni, Lorena M. de Corral and Vicent Todol\u00ed, who selected Spanish and Italian artists. With exhibitions in Genoa (Vila Croce), Rome (Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Roma) and Madrid (Matadero Madrid), this new edition was once again a great success.<\/p>\n

Since 2017, ART Situacions has held the annual ART Situacions ARCOmadrid award, which rewards the best emerging work of art at the prestigious art fair. Later, the prize changes its name to the Pilar Forcada ART Situacions Prize, in honor of the founder and director of ART Situacions, who sadly passed away in 2022. <\/p>\n

ART Situacions, which supports the culture and participating artists with the shared desire to contribute to energize the artistic fabric, is currently working on the third edition, thus expanding its collection of emerging national and European works of art.<\/p>\n

After the sad loss of the soul of the project, Pilar Forcada, founder and director of ART Situacions, her husband and general manager of Honda – Greens, Marcel Pascual, takes over in December 2021 to continue this initiative that his wife led with great success and such enthusiasm, thus honoring her memory and their shared passion for art.<\/p>\n

The system of values on which our society has long rested now finds itself in a period of total redefinition. Culture and art constitute an effective tool for honing our criteria, a path that may illuminate the uncertainty in which humanity finds itself immersed. It is this conviction that is the genesis of ART Situacions, an invitation that seeks to support emerging contemporary art. From the Middle Ages to the present day, private initiative has constantly fostered artistic creation. We could draw a line from the Medici family, the driving force behind the Renaissance, to Heiner Friedrich and Philippa de Menil, the promoters of the Dia Art Foundation, who encouraged the development of minimal art, to cite just two illustrious examples that are widely separated in time. This proposal is a new step in stimulating private initiatives, foundations and collectors, along with all art lovers, with whom we are delighted to associate ourselves.<\/p>\n

Being well aware of the scarcity of opportunities for the youngest sector of present-day art, ART Situacions aims to promote its dissemination and to bring it to a broader public. It does not seek to reflect the tastes of the collectors themselves, nor to promote any particular artistic theme or discipline, but rather to constitute a prospective look. We count on the collaboration of specialists of national and international prestige who together select the artists who create an incisive panoramic vision of the youngest generations in nowadays Art scene. Without a doubt, this is an evocative group of creators with internacional projection, who are exhibiting undisplayed works made from various media, from paint and the object to video or performance action. A stimulating landscape of great polyhedric capacity, united by a firm desire to rethink the relationship of humanity with its environment.<\/p>\n

For us, it is a great satisfaction to give our economic support both to Spanish culture and the participating artists with the shared desire to energise the artistic sphere. I would also like to express our gratitude to all the people of the cultural world who, with their unconditional support, have made it possible to consolidate this project.<\/p>\n
