Chus Martínez
Born in Spain, she studied philosophy and art history. She is currently director of the Institute Art Gender Nature at the FHNW Academy of Art and Design, Basel, Switzerland. For the 56th Venice Biennale (2015), Martínez curated the Catalonia Pavilion, having previously curated the Cyprus Pavilion in 2005. She is the artistic director of Ocean Space in Venice, a project initiated by the TBA21 Academy. She is also a general curator at the Vuslat Foundation in Istanbul. Formerly, she was the head curator at El Museo del Barrio in New York, and at MACBA, Barcelona (2008-11). She was also the director of the Frankfurter Kunstverein (2005-08), and the artistic director at the Sala Rekalde, Bilbao (2002-05).
