ART Situacions ARCOmadrid 2017 Award for the artist Antonio Ballester Moreno

Madrid, 24 February 2017. Antonio Ballester Moreno, represented by the Christopher Grimes Gallery, has won the ART Situacions ARCOmadrid 2017 Award, presented yesterday evening at the fair with prize money of 15,000 euros.

This award aims to confirm ART Situacions in its commitment to emerging international art, encouraging young creators, with the objective of publicising contemporary art.

The jury, consisting of art world professionals María de Corral, independent curator, and Nimfa Bisbe, head of the ‘la Caixa’ Banking Foundation’s art collections, with the collaboration of Carlos Urroz, director of ARCOmadrid, selected the winning work,
which will be included in the ART Situacions collection and exhibited during the fair in the gallery for the chosen work.

The award was presented in Room 36, Pavilion 9 of ARCOmadrid, where a selection of works from the ART Situacions collection are on display, the award presentation was attended by Pilar Forcada, director of ART Situacions; Marcel Pascual, general manager of Honda Greens and sponsor of the award; Carlos Urroz, director of ARCOmadrid; and the award jury members, María de Corral and Nimfa Bisbe.
